Data and compliance
Can your legal team sign this off?
It is the right question and it is usually asked too late. Here is the short answer, and the offer to prove every word of it before you commit to anything.
The guarantee
Four commitments, and we will evidence all of them.
Open data and licensed APIs only
Every field we sell comes from a public register we are entitled to reuse, or from an API under a licence we hold. Nothing else gets into the product.
Nothing scraped from platforms that forbid it
Never Google Places. Never LinkedIn. Where a platform's terms prohibit extraction or redistribution, we do not take the data — including through a third party who took it for us.
Every row traceable, on request
Pick any venue from any list we gave you. We return which register it entered from, which source supplied each field, when it was last read and how confident the reading was.
We remove what we cannot stand behind
When we could not evidence the provenance of a source to our own standard, we deleted it — hundreds of thousands of rows, before anyone asked us to. We would rather ship less than ship something you cannot defend.
Provenance on request
Pick a row. We'll show you where it came from.
Not a certificate, not a policy document: the actual chain for the actual venue you picked, with the date each field was read.
The engine that does the reading stays ours. The provenance of what we sold you is yours.
Ask us to trace a rowThe full source register, under NDA.
Which datasets, which licences, which ones we turned down and why — with the terms we read and the dates we read them. It is the file your legal and procurement teams will want, and we hand it over during the buying process rather than publishing it. Ask, and it is yours before you sign anything.
